Awkward moments and office hermanas

September 7th

HEEEEEYYYY YALLL!!!! Here's a play by play of my week:

Tuesday? fantastic. Just fantastic. I had a dr. appointment in the morning, and then we hung out at the offices for an hour. Then we walked home and made a BOMB stir fry. Aaaaand then Hna D. had an appointment. Familia Johnson (the senior missionary couple in our mission) took us. After that, we went back to the offices and worked a little bit on President's laptop on a project. We hung out til the evening with the 6 office elders and helped out where we could... then we finally left to walk home. On the way home, we stopped in a little kiosco to pick up some bread. We left the kiosco and what do we see?... 2 of the elders standing outside our pench down the road! They saw us and started running as fast as they could over to where we were standing. Apparently, they had a lesson that night with three 9 year old girls.... but... the girls had brought 5 FRIENDS!! So the elderes came running to find us so we could help them teach! We ended up teaching with the 4 elders, and it was soooo much fun!!
Wednesday-another good day! We worked a little in the offices and I got to see my mtc homie elder sheen and chat a little while... so that was fun.
Thursday: Hna D and I hung out in the offices all day, doing random office stuff for the Elderes. This was both good and bad... good because we were helping. Bad because when anyone is around hermana reeve for extended periods of time, an embarassing experience is bound to happen. Exhibit A: Here in Argentina, automatic scent-sprayer thingys are really common. So I was standing in the doorway of the offices, leaning against the door telling a story to all of the elderes AND the 2 senior couples. The darned sprayer thing was located about 2 inches from my face and decided to go off mid-sentence -_- I jumped about 2 feet off the ground and gasped... really, I almost fell over because it startled me so much. I don't think I've ever seen anyone laugh as hard as they all did :P Anyhoo, we helped cook for like 4 hours in preparation for the meeting the next day. Part of food prep was chopping onions. So, as if the whole scent-sprayer thing wasn't enough, how great is it to have everyone walk in on you and your comp bawling your eyes out.. over onions!! I didn't know it was possible for eyes to leak so much!!! But, we got to teach the little girls again with the elderes that night, and it went so well!! We really started to bond with them, and I just love them so much!!
Friday: we spent the morning in the offices cooking some more and then serving the food at the meeting. We spent the late afternoon in the pench cleaning and dancing to church music... ya know.
Saturday: woke up, went to my LAST dr. appointment, then treated ourselves to some delicious argentina pizza!! whoooop!! So much better than in the states... for real. We went to the offices and I played the piano for an hour or so, then the elderes asked us to teach with them again. For the hour before the lesson, we just kinda relaxed w/ the office people (cuz it was their pday) and I played this little keyboard in their offices... then we met the little girls for their lesson!! They were SOOOOO crazy and hyper... the poor elderes were having such a hard time hahaha. Hna D and I helped as much as we could, because the girls listen to us pretty well. The elders were like "thanks, moms!" after the lesson... and in truth, I really did feel like a mom :P AWKWARD STORY TIME! Hermana Dos Santos (an hermana we are living with) has this dvd of farm animal songs... and they actually really help with learning castellano! So I was sitting in the pench while my comp was cooking, and singing at the top of my lungs about a frog sitting under water singing. I got to the chorus and just belted it out: "LA RANA QUE ESTABA SENTANDO CANTANDO ABAJO DE AGUAAAAA!!" Well... the window was open... and little did I know that the office people were all outside working on the pench next door, completely within earshot. whoop dee doo.
Sunday: we went to the ward in Ramos Mejia and immediately upon arriving, the little chicas we have been helping teach found us and demanded that we sit with them. Trying to keep 3 hyper girls quiet during sacrament meeting is hard, but somehow we managed. During the sacrament, the girl named Daniela (apparently I belong to her...) asked me what the Sacrament meant. I explained to her about it and then we read Mosiah 18 together about our baptsimal covenants. She had not wanted to read the LdM in every other lesson... but by the end of Sacrament meeting, i finally convinced her to read it, and she was excited about it! It felt incredible to be able to teach and help someone so eager to learn... aaand it kinda made me really excited to be a mom :)
Well.... that was my week!! Today I will be talking a little more with President about my foot situation. My tendonitis is better, but yesterday was pretty hard... a lot of pain in my heel, to the point where I couldn't really sleep. I'm hoping we can figure something out! Thank you all for your prayers :)
